No registry backup

It was recently reported that Microsoft have turned off registry backups.
This will hopefully never cause you an issue, but for myself and others in IT support this is a major problem. A surprising number of users fall victim to scams and ultimately let someone on their PC to theoretically fix the PC or add some level of protection, many realise all too late that they are being mislead and at some point sever the connection. On restarting their PC's a common scenario is that a new window appears at boot requiring a password, this has been placed there by the scammer protecting their "investment".
A relatively simple resolution to the problem involved manually restoring the registry to an earlier time, but as of Win10 v1809 there may not be an earlier time because Microsoft disabled this feature to save disk space.
There is no simple answer to this problem, although the savvy amongst you could run regedit and create a full backup of the registry. My concern is for the many who may not feel confident to carry out this simple task, don't know they should do so and are unaware that they are unprotected.
