BSOD - the dreaded Blue Screen of Death
Don't Panic
Yesterday, everything was fine - tomorrow morning you start your PC and are confronted by the dreaded Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). You call a friend and he advises you to restart Windows in safe mode. Still no joy.
Don't panic - all is not lost
All things being equal we'll be able to get it up and running "on the spot".
Perhaps you knew the end was near?
If your PC failure was a long time coming (eg every day it took longer to start, it would shut down or crash seemingly at random, it took forever to shut down, etc) then perhaps a re-load is in order. We can take your PC away, copy your files, photos, music, email, etc., wipe and reformat your hard drive, re-install Windows and then re-load your data. On return your PC will go as well as it did the day you first turned it on.
Lots of things can cause Windows to become unstable, some believe that Windows itself is it's own worst enemy and that the only true solution is a full rebuild every 3 - 5 years.
We've had heaps of practise, and we are not aware of ever losing anything created by the pc user when carrying out one of these re-builds - we even take an image of the hard drive before we start "just in case".
